Hello to all our friends and family. As of Sep 2007, Robert and I are no longer dating. However, we will leave this blog up for memories of some of our fun trips and times spent together.

TEMPURA! Oy shi dess!

Robert and I made tempura the other night for dinner-- something we had always enjoyed when dining out but never attempted to make at home. We were really pleased with how it turned out! We went to the Japanese grocery in Portland and bought a sweet potato, Japanese eggplant, broccoli, zuchini, and prawns. Then I coated them in the tempura batter and Robert cooked them to perfection! Oy shi! (So yummy!) Next time we're going to try some more traditional Japanese tempura vegetables like lotus root, daikon (Japanese radish) and lily bulb, as well as some green beans and anything else that we think of!
